No, we're not on the same page, 2024

"No, we're not on the same page" is a stop motion short loosely based on my experiences working in customer service and the infuriating experience of not being able to hear someone over the phone. The film was shot in colour with a Canon R8 on Dragonframe and edited in Adobe Premiere Pro.
The papercraft style of the puppets and sets was influenced by the puzzle game "Lumino City" developed by State of Play Games and Julian Curi's (@righteousrobot) work on Instagram. The papercraft art style of this short was heavily influenced by my love for comics and manga, combined with the concept of bringing 2-dimensional drawings to life.

Character Turnarounds
Puppets used in this short are all build-up puppets created from armature wire, plumber's putty, and foam. Clothes were purchased online.

Heads were sculpted out of polymer clay for a higher degree of accuracy to the character sheets. Magnets were embedded inside characters' heads to enable replacement animation with paper faces and magnetic tape. Paper hands were attached via paperclips embedded in the limbs.

The same design flow was applied to the other characters in this short. Below are a few other behind-the-scenes shots of the process!
